Accessibility Statement
Voice-first AI is, at its core, an accessibility product. We take that seriously. This statement covers how mr CHUY. works for users with disabilities and what we're committed to.
Last updated: April 17, 2026
1. Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2) at Level AA across the mr CHUY. site and app. Voice is our primary interaction model, which means mr CHUY. is usable without a keyboard, without fine motor control, and without reading.
2. What's done
- Voice-first interaction — talk to mr CHUY. instead of typing; useful for users with motor, dexterity, or vision impairments.
- Keyboard navigation — all interactive elements are reachable by Tab and operable by Enter or Space.
- Focus indicators — visible focus styles on every focusable element; we do not remove default outlines.
- Color contrast — text meets or exceeds WCAG AA contrast ratios in both dark and day modes.
- Reduced motion — we honor the
prefers-reduced-motionuser setting and disable intro animations, parallax, and auto-playing effects for users who request it. - Screen reader support — semantic HTML, ARIA labels on icon-only controls, and live regions for voice transcript updates.
- Skip-to-content — a skip link appears on every page so screen-reader and keyboard users can bypass the navigation.
- Scalable text — supports browser zoom to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
- Consistent navigation — the same navigation lives in the same place on every page.
3. Known limitations
- Voice transcription accuracy varies with background noise, accent, and language. We're continuing to improve it.
- Some third-party integration UIs (embedded inside mr CHUY.) may not meet our AA commitment within their own surfaces.
- Press-to-talk is the default interaction; a hands-free wake-word mode is on the roadmap.
- Real-time captioning of AI voice output is in active development; until it ships, users who prefer reading can switch to the text fallback mode.
4. Conformance statement
mr CHUY. is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means some parts of the Service do not yet fully meet the standard; we're closing the gaps and treating every issue as a bug, not a "nice to have."
5. Assistive technologies tested
We test mr CHUY. against the following combinations on every release:
- VoiceOver on macOS (Safari)
- VoiceOver on iOS (Safari)
- NVDA on Windows (Firefox, Chrome)
- TalkBack on Android (Chrome)
6. Feedback
